2017 is in full swing, and that means that all of us here at Lyon Air Museum are currently winding down from another fun-filled holiday season at our unique banquet hall in Orange County! 

We look forward to December each year because it’s a sincere pleasure to have our event venue serve as the host to so many different holiday celebrations. It’s so exciting for our staff to see how each unique company puts their own spin on our space with their creative directions and party favors.  
It’s truly enjoyable for us to meet with such diverse groups of people. In 2016 our event space was occupied by several different fascinating industries including automotive, technology, aviation, medical and more. Just as our guests love to learn about the history of our aircraft and automobiles, we relish the opportunity to meet with business people of all backgrounds, so that we can learn a little bit about their industry.
Over the past few months we have received an in influx of questions from folks who are considering renting a banquet hall in Orange County for their holiday party or corporate event. Below, we’ve answered some of the frequently asked questions that we get regarding holiday parties at the Lyon Air Museum:

Where are you located?

We’re located on the west side of John Wayne airport.

How big are the grounds?

Our event venue is a 30,000 square foot hanger with attached offices and a reception area. The open air concept and large facility can comfortably host approximately 350 people, depending on your event’s requirements. 

What kind of exhibits can we expect?

Lyon Air Museum features an immaculate collection of historic military aircraft, automobiles, motorcycles, and priceless World War II memorabilia. The aircraft and vehicles in our main exhibits are some of the rarest models in the world, and your guests will be stunned to learn that they are all still operational and maintained on-site. We would also be happy to make our docents available for your event if you’d like to have an expert on hand to explain the incredible artifacts housed at our gorgeous banquet hall. 

What is the rental fee?

The base price for a banquet hall rental at Lyon Air Museum is $7,350. Valet, catering, and equipment rental fees are additional. 50% deposit is due upon booking.

Am I required to leave a deposit?

Yes. The required refundable damage deposit is an additional $1,000. 

Is there ample parking?

Parking space is limited. Depending on the number of guests your event aims to host, off-site parking and a pre-approved valet service may be required. 

Am I required to use an approved vendor for catering?

No.We do allow outside vendors, but they must first be approved by our staff, and a $1,500 outside catering fee applies. 

Do you have a list of preferred vendors?

Yes. Our preferred vendors are all familiar with our procedures, and have excellent reviews for their provided services.
