It was a beautiful winter day over France in February of 1959, with the bright sunshine of a clear blue sky glistening off the snow-covered Alps. Lyon Air Museum Docent Jim Buehner skillfully guided a sleek F-100D Super Sabre fighter over the French-Swiss border, just west of Geneva. Jim was flying the aircraft to Wheelus Air Force Base (AFB) in Libya for repairs, and flying along with him were two other F-100s scheduled for gunnery training in the vast deserts south of Tripoli.

Nonprofit galas are one of our favorite types of events to host at our banquet hall in Orange County. Lyon Air Museum has had the pleasure of hosting a multitude of fundraisers, and we are always excited to help support a great cause.
We know how difficult it can be to plan a successful nonprofit gala, so we’ve asked some of our favorite event planners to give us their tips for coordinating a successful fundraiser.

Santa Ana, Calif., September 21, 201 – Lyon Air Museum, a world class showcase of historic aircraft and vintage automobiles, is scheduled to perform at the Breitling Huntington Beach Air Show, with a rare, World War Two C-47 Skytrain aircraft. The air show takes place along the shore of Huntington Beach, California on September 29 – October 1, with a practice day on the 29th. The show is the only beachfront air show scheduled on the West Coast.
As one of the most diverse banquet halls in Orange County, you can imagine that we have held some pretty unique events here at Lyon Air Museum. While we’re happy to host standard corporate events in our event space, it’s always exciting when we have event organizers that take their event to the next level.
All veterans who visit the museum on November 11, 2016 will be entered into a drawing for a chance to receive a flight in a T-6 Texan! One winner will be chosen at 4:00 PM PST. Please note that height and weight restrictions do apply, and the flight is not transferable. The winner will be notified by the Museum, and will need to secure a reservation in order to redeem their free flight.

The air show takes place along the shore of Huntington Beach, California on October 22-23, with a practice day on the 21st. The show is the only beachfront air show scheduled on the West Coast and is the first air show to take place in Huntington Beach since the 1990s.
