Sierra Sue II is a combat-flown North American P-51 Mustang. Built in Inglewood, California, in November 1944, the aircraft was assigned to the 402nd Fighter Squadron, 370th Fighter Group, Ninth Air Force, where 1st Lt. Robert Bohna flew it on bomber escort, ground attack, and combat patrol missions during the final months of the war.
After World War II, Sierra Sue II continued on new journeys, serving with the Swedish and Nicaraguan Air Forces before returning to the United States. Now restored to its original wartime appearance, the aircraft is now part of the Lyon Air Museum Family, honoring the legacy of the men and machines that shaped aviation history.
